Lights, camera and some fundraising action!

Peter and his wife Katherine recently hosted 30 models and photographers from ‘Snap Network’. They enjoyed spending time with ‘Svali’ and ‘Svipur’ the Icelandic horses, taking the opportunity to add to their modelling portfolios and learn about the unique qualities of these spectacular horses as well as fundraising for our great local charity!

Peter and Prestur’s Parliament Parade…

Peter recently saddled up and rode into Parliament with his former world champion and gold medal winning emotional support horse, ‘Prestur’ (‘Priest’ in Icelandic)to visit MPs in the all-party parliamentary group on ADHD.

Speaking outside Speaker of the House Sir Lindsay Hoyle’s residence in Westminster, Peter explained how important these animals have been to him “I was in a really bad place after my heart attack, and the horses were a massive part of my rehab. I was back riding them within six weeks and am thankfully back to full health now.

“I find they really help quieten the mind, and you fall into a state of deep relaxation and peace. If you’ve got ADHD like me, you find yourself completely at ease within a few minutes.”

The event, which was organised by Ruth Jones, Newport West and Islwyn’s Labour MP, alongside fellow Labour MP Jo Platt, was also attended by the Iceland’s ambassador to the UK, Sturla Sigurjónsson.
